I did a DIY cleaning on my throttle body since after my DIY IACV cleaning, my idling problem was not 100% solved.
The car is a 99 civic SiR pero common naman ang principle ng thottle body sa toyota so kung may idling problems kayo pwede nyo din gawin ito.
Things to prepare:
Ratchet set
Carburetor cleaner
Screwdriver and other standard tools
Coke 1.5
Squid balls
Procedure:
1. Baklasin ang Throttle body assembly. Remove all attaching hoses air intake tube, throttle cable, and sensor connectors. Use diagram below.
The TB assembly is being held by 2 nuts and 2 bolts each corner.
2. Use a carburetor cleaner to clean the throttle valve and all chambers/holes on the throttle body.
Here's a pic of my throttle body when I removed it... poocha ang dumi sobra!
3. remove the idle screw valve carefully and clean everyting. This controls the car's idling and pag nagbara na ang butas, no more idling unless buksan ng konti ang throttle valve which will cause other problems like fluctuating idling, or very low idling during cold starts. Ingatan din yung rubber o-ring dahil pag nasira ito, luluwag ang idle screw and magkakaroon ng vacuum leak.
4. Mag meryenda muna ng squidballs and coke...
5. Re-install everything back and reset the ECU. Make sure the gasket is placed correctly.
clean throttle body...
Before i did this, my engine is showing the following idle issues:
1. very low idling during cold starts
2. fluctuating idling after reving high rpms
3. aircon compressor turns on and off when engine is cold.
All these problems were solved!
